I feel like a goat
i've got this bump on my head that's been around for some time though i'm not sure how long. It's been some years? but not sure how long exactly. only started to take notice of it when it struck me how strange my skull would look if i were to shave my head (don't ask me why i was thinking that). It's kinda like a bump on a goat.. before the horns are fully formed. Really feels like a bone and i don't feel pain at all.
Anyway, showed it to the doc this morning during the health checkup. Dr Karen Kwok. She says its a sebaceous cyst, nothing to be alarmed about and so to leave it. I could try to remove it surgically, but there'd be alot of bleeding.
Came back home, just did an online research on what a sebaceous cyst is.. but the online descriptions of it of it being mobile and slightly pliable does not seem to really match the bump on my head. SO, i guess i shall be getting a second opinion. Whatever it is, if it is somehow related to my increasing absent mindedness.. i'd be kinda happy to know that there's a reason for it apart from ageing :)
Meanwhile, i shall continue feeling like a goat :)
O yes.. minor news, got selected for interview for the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Masters of Public Administration course next Wed! We'll see how it goes... m kinda neutral about getting in or not.. if i do, great! but i don't, great too! :) Trusting God to direct my steps in this.
Came back tonight with a song in my heart.. made up a song (forgot the lyrics already.. something about giving my hands and heart to him and about seeing Him in creation and seeing His face.. haha random songs) as i walked back from the bus stop and ended with this in the shower:
"How lovely is, your dwelling place
O Lord Almighty
My soul longs and even faints for you...
For here my soul, is satisfied within your presence
I sing beneath the shadow of your wings..
Better is one day in your courts, better is one day in your house
better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere"
One of my biggest dreams is to travel around the world and experience different things, and what a good God we have to have answered even the secret desires of our heart! i have never travelled as much as i have since becoming a Christian honestly! but as i have been travelling and experience doing different things, yet i have started to come to the conclusion: that none of the world's beauty or experiences can ever replace having just ONE day with my King in His courts.
Sometimes in the midst of going from place to place, doing different things, meeting different people, i find myself wanting only one thing at the end of the day: to be with Him. Nothing beats the presence and the assurance of His love over my life... have u stood in the presence of someone, and feel the safety and security that comes from knowing he/she is able to protect, provide and watch over you, even as he/she loves, accepts and delights in you? I have experienced the latter kind of joy with some of my friends. Just think of that and multiply it a thousand times more.. that's how it is in the presence of God.
alrite. end of late nite ramblings :)

ReplyDeleteprobably just bony overgrowths. if so, then they're completely benign.
ReplyDeleteyeah, thanks! m pretty sure its benign too. Just checking on giving an accurate name to this goat gene in me.
ReplyDeleteSecond opinion from the last doc i went to see for my laryngitis (i think he's jst fresh out of med school, he looks younger than me) is that it could be bony overgrowth (hey wesoid, good guess!) So, to get it right once and for all.. im going for an x ray! :)
ReplyDeleteok thanks for the update. do you plan to post the x-ray results of the bony overgrowth? uhmm maybe you don't have to. :-P
