We went on a safari at the famous Kruger National Park about 5 hours drive away from Johannesburg.
Saw wild hyenas, elephants, impalas, vultures, zebras, giraffes, leopard, rhinoceros, hippos, cheetahs, lions and a snake swallowing another snake at night! I had to keep reminding myself this was not a zoo. We weren't allowed to get out of the vehicles and if the ranger did, he would LOAD a rifle.. like bullets and all before he did. woo hoo.
Had an awesome time with our guide, douglas and our driver, jacob (pronounced yakh-yob) aka mclovin'. SOme of the most amazing servant hearted guys i've met.. and very very "guy".. like they knew all the roughing out stuff and douglas even cooked all our meals for us, really well too! he was Mr Do Everything - chef, guide, administrator, camp coordinator extraordinaire..
It was an awesome experience! I left a part of my heart in South Africa!

ReplyDeletehi eauj! yes i did! in fact i bought some back to Singapore for the staff and family..hehe . thing is pp are still in fasting mode this week, so next week they get to eat! :) i got beef, ostrich and kudu biltong!
