Difference between Singlish, Filipino, American, British English and more...!

Ruby Pan, this amazing Singaporean teacher puts on American, British, Filipino, Singapore Standard English and Singlish accents all in one speech!

Had the great opportunity to meet her today at NUS, she looks different now with her really short cropped hair, but a really nice girl all the same. Few can be as talented as her! Enjoy!

  2. yeah! she picked the accent up from the filipinos she was working with the organisation called Migrant Voices.. it's an NGO that helps overseas workers that have been abused by their employers (if u listen to what she's saying during that portion.. it's a real reflection of what was happening to them unfortunately. Singapore must not be proud of that). the accent that she picked up for the filipino part of her speech is definitely different from what we hear in manila.

  3. hahahaha.
the part where she talked about english teachers in Sg, i almost fell off my chair. exactly how my english teacher in Sec 3-4 sounds like.
And it's been a while since I've been there, I had to turn up the speakers and go back a couple of times when she started speaking in Singlish. Couldn't keep up anymore haha :)
