I'll Come Home To You

On my way back today, the phrase, ‘At the end of the day, I’ll come home to you’ kept coming to my
mind. And suddenly such a great longing to just go home to be with you came
over me. That’s all I want to do, to go home to you every day.

Sorry about the days that I came home, shut the door, read my book and slept and never came home to you.

When a life is taken

And the world keeps going,

I’ll come home to you

When the happy chatter is over

And familiar voices fade

I’ll come home to you

When I stand alone at the station

And the final pondering closes

I’ll come home to you

When the day’s over

When all is said and done,

I’ll come home to you

When my heart finds no rest

And all the loving is over

I’ll come home to you

When my mind stop its whirring

And my heart stops its sharing

I’ll come home to you

Though the warmth of friendship fills

The heart of many years,

I’ll come home to you

Greater things than you’ve done

You said I’d do

But at the end, I’ll come home to you

And even when my soul fills with joy

With stories of mended dreams around

Still, I’ll come home to you

One day, I’ll come home to you.
