PM Lee's Rally Speech

Excerpts from Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong @ Young PAP Rally - Channel News Asia (http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/203260/1/.html)

Mr Lee emphasised that the PAP unites all Singaporeans.

It is not partisan, it does not champion one group of Singaporeans
against another; and that is why the Opposition finds it difficult to
mobilise against the PAP.....

Mr Lee said, "We need a capable government to be on top of all these
issues, to look over the horizon, to respond faster than other
countries, to mobilise Singaporeans so that we can work together and be
something special, not just three and a half million people but one
very shining red dot".

Just found the excerpts intriguing coz i never thought about PAP - People's Action Party (our current party heading the govt) as a party for the people... for ALL.. not championing a certain segment, the young, old, male , female, poor, rich, industrialists or blue collared.. but for ALL. Come to think of it, the govt has always been fair to all segments in their policies to the best of their abilities and i must really applaud the Ministry of Finance or whoever it is that has undertaken and drafted financial policies for the country in crisis times and in good times.

I find it funny that the government would call us a shining red dot! haha... i don't really want to be called a shining red dot... haha.., reminds me of those blinking red buttons on the airplane control panel.. hehe. I hope Singapore doesn't just become a shining red dot.. I'm not sure what it should be and i'm not in a poetic prose this morning.. but i know it should be something more!

Proud of you, Singapore!

  1. this also reminds me of how the kingdom of heaven should be.. that the opposition will find it not just difficult, but impossible to mobilise against the Chosen Ones
