As part of the Global Public Policy Network Conference this year, the LKY School of Public POlicy organised a dinner for its participants at the Istana (SG equivalent of White House) with President S R Nathan himself!
So yes, after 27 yrs, i've finally stepped into the Istana and got to shake hands with Mr President!
Honestly though, i was just very content to see Mr Nathan shake hands and speak with my other international classmates.. it was a moment of, interestingly, national pride - i just felt so proud of our President: his humility and patience most of all.
