hi all, this is a post from my SWM classmate, Cesar! i liked it, so thought to share with everyone on my list too. A question every man asks... i think women too!

for everyone

It's
funny ... yesterday while we were giving flyers to the students of
Mandaue for our youth service this afternoon ... God poked me again! I
was talking to Ptr. Raymond and all of a sudden our conversation led us
to my most evaded topic ... love life and finding the partner God has
for me.

Well, anyway, I asked him how could I ever know if the woman I find
is God's choice for me. What is the process of pursuing that woman?
How will I ever know if my standards for a perfect mate is God's
standards for me. It was quite a difficult question for me to answer
but he gave me a very profound yet simple answer from the Bible.

He started out by saying "In Genersis 2 ...", and I started to whine
on mind, " ... here it goes again, a preaching from the Word of God ...
this is the last thing I needed right now". He continued ... "when God
created man, God saw that it was not good for man to be alone. So, he
created the animals but it didn't work! So the next verse after that,
the Bible says ... 'God placed man into deep sleep.'" He reiterated,
God placed man into deep sleep! God got a rib from Adams' and created
woman. When Adam saw the woman, he said it was good and beatiful!

I said, I don't get it! So what does this have to do with the
standards I have and desire for a perfect mate. He further explained
that when God gave Eve to Adam, Adam wasn't involved at all. He even
doesn't have any idea what a woman is like or how does it feel to like
a woman. Human involvement was completely absent when he recieved
Eve. All he knew then was that God was more than enough for him. It is
the same thing with us, our desires and standards should be in deep
sleep. Too many times have we tried so hard to imagine the perfect
mate and put standards that she should be this and that, and do
everything to find her/him by our own. Yes, we should be expectant and
believe for the best mate but in finding him/her, we should be 100% not
involved. We should be in faith that God knows best as far as our
partner is concerned, and that it will be God who will awaken us and
open our eyes when she comes.

After having such a deep revelation from Genesis 2. I got a sigh of
relief that the same faith needed for me to believe for my MPD, for my
ministry, for missions is the same faith needed to believe for the
perfect mate for me. I should be in deep sleep until God awakens me
but still be very expectant of God's best for me and believe everyday
that He will provide for me.
