Close My Eyes

just went through some of the photos i posted up on my multiply site.

reminiscing again.. those were some really great 10 months!!!! :) SWM itself was a cultural experience.. SWM culture..

finding my place once again.. reentry stress and cultural shock after SWM. I can close my eyes and see myself back at the dorm... clunking up and down the staircase as Kitti so abhors. Close my eyes and see the road leading from dorm to the Fort.. Close my eyes and hear the ice cream cart tune *tum ta-tum ta, tum ta-tum ta, tum*.. Close my eyes and see the Starbucks at Market Market!.. Close my eyes and hear the girl behind Jollibee counter say "good afternoon ma'am/sir, ... for awhile!" Close my eyes and place myself in my 'allocated' seat in the classroom, propping up my feet against the table rim below. Close my eyes and see Jojo at the corner of our classroom. Close my eyes and see Jimmy our security guard at the Fort greeting us. Close my eyes and see ate Belin at the cafeteria. Close my eyes and see the tapsilog i'd order for lunch. Close my eyes and see Kitti go 'Shor Shor' in class. Close my eyes and see ps luther telling us 'u guys are all smart people, don't take notes, just listen!'

all it takes, is to close my eyes.

Close my eyes, i see the past. But that's the easy way out. Open my eyes, i see the future. It's alot easier to see the past, than to look to the future. Not very clear, but i know it's pretty bright. and one day, it's also going to be something that i'll close my eyes and see :)

  1. your entry reminds me of a song....
"close your eyes, give me your hand, darling...do you feel my heart beating, do you understand, do you feel the saaaame....or am i only dreeeaaa-eaming, or is this burning, an eternal flaaa--aaame!" hehehe...
anyway, I miss you Ivy! :D

  5. you are just that focused, let's get things done and "just say what you want to say" person. well, that's how I percieved you to be ... I guess I need to take more Cultural Anthropology to harness my cross-cultural skills ... hehehe

  6. hahahah.. that reminds me of the one time Rhia Mora was discussing with the Class Yearbook Team about how to tell people about something, then i said out loud (and quite abruptly), "then just say it!".. that almost went into my Quotable Quotes section ;p

but u noe ur analysis is pretty good! just that every person has always more than one dimension.. just like in every culture! :)
