Dialogues in "Prince Caspian" That Stuck

Just came back from watching Prince Caspian and there were some key dialogues and scenes that really stuck out to me:

Why Would That Stop You?

The scene where Lucy was telling Aslan how her siblings did not believe her when she told them that she'd seen Him (though she ultimately did not follow Him but her siblings which ultimately led to a series of unfortunate events). slight alterations (coz this is from memory)

Lucy: I knew i saw you! but they didn't believe me...

Aslan: Why would that stop you from coming to me?

Lucy:... i guess i was afraid to come alone..

Isa 42:16 - there are certain paths that God places in our lives .. those roads least travelled. Made me start thinking if there had been about moments where I had hesitated in moving forward towards what i believed God wanted me to do or where He wanted me to be, because no one else was heading there nor believed was right to do.

Ready For This

Dialogue between Prince Caspian and Aslan when Aslan asks him to rise as a King of Narnia:

Prince Caspian: "I do not think i am ready for this."

Aslan: " It is for that reason, that i know you are"

When we realise the true weight of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it, i believe that no one in the right state of mind would actually think that we are ready, especially leadership in the way God meant it. Yet it is true, that in our weakness we are strong, not by our own might or power, but by the Spirit of God. True God-fearing leaders may never feel ready in and of themselves, but does what is asked of them because they realise that it is their dependency on and trust in Christ that victories will be won.

Bigger Each Year

In an excerpt from a CBN.com write up below, i love the ending statement on the scene when Lucy meets Aslan for the first time in the movie:

In perhaps the most telling scene in the entire movie, Lucy remarks that Aslan is bigger than when she last saw him.  Aslan replies, “Every year you grow, so shall I.” In other words, the more one matures in their faith the greater God appears.

“I love that saying,” says Henley.  “When I grow it’s like he becomes more mature and even bigger.  It’s almost like Aslan suits you more and Narnia suits you more.”

As will God and His kingdom.

The orignial version from the book actually says "Every year you grow, you will find me bigger." quite a difference, but the key point is this: It is not that God ever changed, but as we mature in our faith (not age), we are able to see Him stronger and bigger in our lives as He truly is and also realise that there is just NO other God nor Kingdom you'd much rather serve or be part of. And how true that has become for me, by the grace of God. No other God but the one who gave His life for us, Jesus Christ.
